ALCOA WHEEL PRODUCTS PREVIEWS NEW WHEEL DESIGNED FOR THE SPRINTER 3500 AT RVIA EXPO

LOUISVILLE, KY (November 27, 2007) – The Alcoa Wheel Products exhibit in booth #638 at the Louisville Exposition Center features the company’s line of forged aluminum wheels for motorized RVs and trailers and spotlights the unveiling of Alcoa’s new Sprinter wheel.

Alcoa Wheel Products chose this important industry event to preview its new forged aluminum wheel designed for the Sprinter 3500 fitment. Production orders for this new wheel will be ready in early 2008. As part of its product line extension to the medium duty commercial vehicles segment, this lightweight 20.7 pound aluminum wheel belies its 2833 pound load rating, making it well suited for the demands of RVs and work trucks/vans built on the Sprinter 3500 cab/chassis.

Offered as an aftermarket component, the availability of the Alcoa’s Sprinter 3500 wheel expands styling and exterior design options for RV manufacturers and Sprinter upfitters. The end-use customer benefits from the added advantage of aluminum’s corrosion resistance, lighter weight and improved heat dissipation for extended brake and tire life. Each 16 x 5.5 inch polished wheel features a classic streamlined look with 6 elongated hand holes and savings of about 8 pounds each compared to the original equipment steel wheel.

The introductory launch of Alcoa’s new Sprinter 3500 wheel is complemented by the array of forged aluminum wheels offered to the RV market, including the 14-inch wide based wheel, and wheels that are easy to clean and never needs polishing, such as 22.5 x 7.5 Alcoa Dura-Bright® with XBR ™ technology wheels. Alcoa also supplies 19.5 X 6.75, 16 X 7, and 16 x 6 aluminum wheels for many RV models and towable trailers.
