Alcoa Introduces Aluminum Wheel That Reduces Rim Flange Wear
October 2, 2003 CLEVELAND, Ohio - October 2, 2003 - Alcoa Wheel & Forged Products introduced Dura-Flange™, an aluminum wheel with a proprietary treatment on the wheel rim that guards against excessive rim wear. Alcoa’s Dura-Flange™ wheel, patent-pending in the United States and internationally, was developed for applications where loads are heavy and prone to shifting, causing tire walls to rub against the wheel rims.
